Red has been adopted. He has a new home and family.
I had to return Red to the Humane Society because he chewed things when I left him to go to work. I'm away twelve to thirteen hours. Even with Max as his companion, I think Red felt as if I was deserting him when I left for work.
Red gets along great with other dogs and with humans of all ages and sizes, babies to grownups.
Animal Behaviorist Emily Keegans at the Humane Society worked with Red and decided that Red was ready to be adopted by the right person. It sure didn't take long and now he has a new home.
Red is an extremely smart, friendly and very loving dog, but I think he's too insecure to be left alone for long. He has to gain the confidence that his human companion is always going to come back. It'll happen - Max had the same insecurity when we adopted him. Red will be a wonderful friend.
He is also absolutely gorgeous!
Below is the web site I made for Red when I adopted him.

Red Ellingson
aka Little Red Rooster, Reddi Whippersnapper, Red Stuff, just plain Red
Born May 21, 2007
Adopted June 11, 2008
from The Humane Society of Seattle/King County, Bellevue, Washington
Red is a Chow-Chow mix, seventy pounds of fluffy love and affection. He loves everybody, especially his big brother, Max. I promised Max a new sibling as soon as I started my vacation so we'd all have a couple of weeks to get used to each other before I went back to work. Max's older brother, Kenai, died February 21st.

A chain of command was soon established.
Look here, I'm running things, see?
Gee, that was scary.
Too darn cute.
